Honda has been spied testing their mini scooter-cum-motorcycle based on their popular hit Navi, Grom aka MSX 125 (Mini-Street Xtreme 125), near Shimla.
Worldwide known as Grom, MSX 125 is basically a mini motorcycle that has been designed with the likes of fun packed Navi scooter which is already a hit in India.
Honda has gained good success over their ‘different’ styled Navi scooter, which is a mixture of motorcycle & gearless scooter. Navi is a hit among young buyers and serves practical as well as impractical purposes well for the buyers. Going with the flow and the result sales of Navi, bringing Grom to India might be a good looking idea to Honda.
Explaining Grom; it uses a single-cylinder 125cc, FI engine that is capable of producing 9.7 PS of power and 10.9 NM of torque mated down through a 5-speed gearbox. It uses a platform that has been designed similar to Navi scooter.
Other technical features with which Grom is equipped include LED headlamps, ABS, LCD display, 220mm front disc & 190mm rear disc brake. Enough for such a fun packed small motorcycle?
Well, spotting a test mule don’t confirm anything here regarding the launch. Everything comes to the production cost and profit related to it; if Honda finds the right production scheme then a launch can be expected. For now there’s no official wording regarding anything related to Grom.
Although it would be fun to ride one!
